Vernon Robinson Wins Cabarrus County GOP Convention Straw Poll

Concord, NC – Vernon Robinson, conservative candidate for Congress in NC-8, today won the Straw Poll conducted by the Cabarrus County Republican party at its annual County Convention at J.N. Fries Middle School.

Chairman John Lewis declared Vernon Robinson the winner of the straw poll, in a tie with competitor Richard Hudson, former staff aide to numerous Washington establishment Republicans.

“Today’s win represents the culmination of the hard work of freedom, conducted by a successful team of dedicated conservative grassroots activists in Cabarrus County.  Robinson’s Raiders have communicated our vision of a limited government with unlimited economic opportunity throughout Cabarrus County and the 8th District, ” said Vernon Robinson, candidate for US Congress in NC-8.

“This message has resonated with Republicans in Cabarrus County, who are tired of business-as-usual politics from the establishment Republicans in Washington.  The 8th District is ready to elect new conservative leadership.  I am honored and humbled by this victory, and will do everything in my power to continue to spread the message of grassroots conservatism from today until the election on May 8.”
